They competed all the way in Illinois trying to win in a very large tournament. They reached eliminations and overall did fairly well. Here are a couple pictures of the bot they competed with.

They went through some troubles with their drive which did not work all day. They ranked 10th after qualifications amazingly and picked the as the sixth seed. Just like previous matches nothing worked and they were eliminated in the qualifications.
Though they were honored with the Air Force Sportsmanship Award and Energy Award.

They had one more chance to qualify for the VRC World Championship in Anaheim, CA and they took advantage of the opportunity. They surged through qualification ranking 6th in their Asimov division. They were then selected by the 2nd ranked team 3233 (thank you) and then continued to pick team 536D. They then were able to battle their way to the division finals losing to two highly respected teams 1200A and 1200E. After the final the team was selected as the team with the best design process and were awarded the Design Award. This award qualifies a team for Worlds at a 64 team tournament which it was so they are already getting ready for the upcoming event!
LTC World Warm Up
They attended a little scrimmage at a technical college to get their new bot primed for Worlds a couple weeks later. They finished 2nd after qualifications which is pretty seeing that in the first three matches they were having technical issues. They then went on to select 3233 (for his kindness earlier this year) and cruised to the finals knocking off a substantial team 1200G in the process. In the finals they went head to head against two good teams 1200B and 1200F. They lost first match because their doubles was knocked off in the last remaining seconds. Though they were able to squeak by in the second and crush 30-14 to win the tournament. On the left is our latest bot named Chuck Norrissauras.
VRC World Championship
Their team went to Anaheim, CA to compete at the World Championship. The convention center was huge and filled with 600 hundred teams ranging from middle school to college. Their team was in the technology division and they were pitted right next to it. They competed admirably but had some bad luck resulting in a final qualification rank of 75 and a record of 2-6-2. They sadly were not picked to move on. They were then honored with the Technology Division Excellence Award by the judges for being the best overall team which has qualified them for Worlds next year in Anaheim.
Excellent job this year!
